ExPat911 is a service developed by Expats for Expats.

We decided to make a service to help our fellow Expats with reporting crimes and emergencies. This company was created by two partners who share a combined 45 years of living in all parts of Mexico. We also share a combined 25 years of online experience running a major network dedicated to US Veterans. It was an easy decision to apply this experience to something that would benefit our fellow brothers and sisters who also enjoy living abroad in the great country of Mexico.

Unfortunately, many of our Expats have not been able to break the language barrier. Imagine being in a life threatening emergency situation, and trying to speak to 911 in Mexico. Would you feel comfortable explaining all of your symptoms or explaining about a crime that is being committed in your home? After speaking to many of our fellow Expats, we realized that a service like this was 100% necessary. So we decided to create ExPat911.

The idea is simple…

When you report a crime or emergency using our app, you will always get a 100% fluent English speaking operator.  Our operators are 100% fluent in Spanish as well and so we will ensure that all details are reported properly on your behalf.  You just click a button for a specific alert (Police, Ambulance or Fire) and we will call you to verify the emergency and gather additional details.  Then we will report your emergency in Spanish on your behalf.  

We also decided to add another important feature which many Expats have told us worries them. In your profile page, you will be able to fill out contact forms. You are allowed to fill in 2 local contacts here in Mexico, and 1 contact from the United States. After your emergency has been reported to 911, we will immediately start calling your contacts as well. So now your neighbors can come help you out while you are waiting for emergency services to arrive. Also, your loved ones back home will have been informed of your emergency situation. Most of us have that fear in the back of our minds wondering how will my friends and family know that I have been in an emergency situation. Well now you don’t have to worry. We will take care of that for you.

Your profile page will also have important information about your medical history. You can fill out your blood type, allergies, sickness’s and diseases. This way we can tell Mexico’s 911 exactly what they need to know while they take care of you.

Our service is using top of the line technology. We incorporated GPS features so that we know exactly where you are located. (You must have mobile data on your phone in order for GPS to work. Some areas of Mexico may not offer this service and we are not responsible for that. All towns and cities do offer this, however driving between cities you may not have this feature available.) This means that you are covered even when not in your home. If you have a car accident and report the emergency, we can send emergency services to your location even if you are not sure where you are.

We have also incorporated different ways for you to reach out to us. You can push a button for a specific type of emergency alert to report it.  We will contact you immediately at any time 24 hours a day. You can also use a chat feature which mirrors the likes of Whatsapp with text messages. When your emergency is reported to us, we will see your location and send help immediately. We will be in touch with you the entire time.
